Review by hotel critic
After a long drive, my partner and I arrived at the Kings Arms, eager for a relaxing weekend getaway. While the initial greeting was somewhat unceremonious—entering through a back door that felt a bit dingy—our experience improved significantly as we settled in. The room was clean and comfortable, featuring carpeted floors, a flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee facilities, which made it easy to unwind after our journey. A stand-out aspect of our stay was the breakfast, served between 8 and 9 am and included in the rate. We especially enjoyed the well-cooked fry-ups that set us up for the day ahead. The restaurant in the pub also offered delicious evening meals, from what we gathered, made with care, making it a solid choice for dinner with reasonable prices. Though there isn't much else in the village, the Kings Arms serves as a convenient base for exploring the area. For travelers weighing luxury against cost, this hotel strikes a decent balance. I’d certainly consider returning for another stay.
